Since the first of July, Opsomai streams live and on demand videos of the conferences held by the French Economy and Finance Ministries (MFCP-MEIN - Ministère des Finances et des Comptes publics - Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Industrie et du Numérique).
The General Secretariat of the ministries entrusted to Opsomai the management of the existing multilingual Windows Media live and on demand streaming service, under the control of their video back-office called GCV, which was designed by Quadrille, a longstanding partner of Opsomai. Thus, GCV was interfaced with Opsomai's hosting and streaming cloud platform, and with Opsis Media, Opsomai's Media Asset Management software. Opsomai provided also its plugin for the speech recognition services of its partner Authôt, in order to generate automatically the conferences text transcriptions first, for search optimization, and soon to add subtitles to a selection of videos, thanks to Authôt service of automatic transcription with human correction.
Opsomai is going also to help the ministries in their transition toward MPEG-4 / HLS streaming, for reaching tablets and smartphones users. Opsomai will rely on its partner Limelight Networks' Content Delivery Network (CDN) to transmit these streams, as for the video services of ENGIE and CNRS. This update, which started on 2016 fall with parallel streaming of both protocols Windows Media and HLS, also brings an innovative service called "nDVR" (network Digital Video Recorder) that enables viewers to pause and resume live transmissions.
In 2017, Opsomai will test the new non-proprietary streaming protocol Dash, as an alternative to Apple HLS
