In 2006, SNCF entrusted to Opsomai the creation, development and implementation of their video library, implying metadata transfer from Taurus database. It has been the opportunity for Opsomai to develop an import / export plug-in for Apple's Final Cut Pro software so as to import Final Cut Pro projects into Opsis Media which retrieves rushes selection as logged in the editing software and to export Opsis Media cart as a ready-to-use Final Cut Pro project.
As requested by the Head of IT, this platform has been implemented into SNCF's technical infrastructure.
This video library that had originally been thought to process import and delivery standard-definition DV files has been upgraded in 2011 in order to support HD formats as SNCF started using them. In 2013, a front office website has been added to this video library and allowed all agents to search and download a selection of videos.
In 2016, eventually, SNCF decided to delegate to Opsis Media the management of their photo library that had been administered, so far, by Gesco Media - a software, which had been purchased by Wedia in 2012. With this evolution, SNCF now benefit from a unique back-office to index and preserve all their media as well as from a unique front office website that offers an editorialized selection of videos and photos to all their agents.
