A professional tool for secure on-line screening
Orao is a hypermedia tool designed and made by Opsomai in order for audiovisual catalogue owners to provide on-line screening services. It is currently used by the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel (INA), France’s largest TV catalogue, for its on-line service called Inamédiapro, which offers the screening of three millions programs and stock shots. It is also the video player of most sites relying on Opsomai's technologies. Orao’s main features are:
Security: screening authorisation is obtained through a database access; local copy of the clip is not possible; on-the-fly image insertion of a logo
Ubiquity: PC & Mac compatibility; handles all the video formats supported by QuickTime, including MPEG-1, 2 & 4; Web client: no software installation needed, QuickTime only required
Functionalities: fast-forward & rewind and Jog/Shuttle with sound; frame-accurate timecode display; users can define clips on-line and save them in a database
